When temperature puts a fastening to the test.

A stuck mandrel is one of the most frustrating issues when working with blind rivets: it slows down production and, if handled improperly, can damage the tool. The main causes are often incorrect nosepieces, poor maintenance, or improper adjustments.

To intervene safely:

•Avoid forcing the trigger excessively, as this may compromise the internal jaws.

•Follow the manufacturer’s recommended release procedure, disassembling and cleaning the affected parts.

•Check the nosepiece diameter against the mandrel size and inspect the pulling jaws, replacing them if worn.

Regular tool maintenance and inspection of accessories significantly reduce the frequency of jams and help maintain consistent fastening quality.
